Overview

As part of the State of Michigan’s digital ecosystem, I designed custom icons for various state agencies, ensuring visual consistency while addressing unique requirements that were not available in the IBM Carbon Design System catalog.

These icons follow IBM Carbon’s design principles, maintaining a cohesive look and feel across digital products while adapting to the specific needs of each agency.

However, the existing system faced usability and accessibility challenges that needed improvement to enhance user experience, streamline workflows, and align with Michigan’s digital standards.
